Evolution in NYC

A very cool short video about how wildlife evolves in the context of the city of New York. I especially like the way that the fragmentation of the parks can cause subspecies to evolve that are specific to their homes.

In a great, smart piece in New York Magazine, Jonathan Chait argues just that. Demographics are a strong force working against the G.O.P. and their intransigence may ultimately be their downfall should they not change their ways. This article really drives home the importance of the 2012 election. I recommend the read:
